I'm glad you have chosen to upgrade, 1.5.0 should be out very soon
now and will really surprise you as to it's sleek and efficient use if
system resources.

! Where can I find Eterm?

The Official web page for Eterm is,
if you don't want to go to the terribly slow enlightenment web page.

! Also, I have seen terminal windows with transparent backgrounds...
! what terminal program will do this and where do I find it?

Eterm does "pseudo-transparency", and with 1.5beta5 it no longer
requires Esetroot to set the transparency correctly. As has been said by
others, Eterm won't do transparenc on tiled images. This is obviously
better and less memory intensive to simply use the same pixmap as the root
bg anyway - that should be common sense, but apparently not to some. (no
offense to anyone here - just a statement) :)

! It seems that Eterm lets you put an image in the terminal
! window... right?

Yes, you can tile an image, or scale the image to fit the terminal

And again, welcome to the latest version, I hope you enjoy it.
