 Hi all!!!

OK, I'm at work where I installed RedHat with the same CD I used at
home. (afterstep still works here, old version) I found the rpms and
all files. I have the same install here that I have at home. I found
libXpm.a and libXpm.so in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11 When I try to install the
rpms for xdevel and xpmdevel it complains that the packages are already
installed. So I searched and I discovered that xpm.h is installed in
/usr/X11R6/include/X11 Is this where it is supposed to be?? Don't know
if I said it before but I installed EVERYTHING when I set these machines
up. Can I simply copy xpm.h to /usr/X11R6/lib?? These files where here
all along.

The version of RH 5.1 I purchased came with a white CD case, unlike all
my friends who have a blue CD case. Is it possible I have a different
revision? Hmmm.....

I'll report more this evening,
Derek

That's new to me. rpm -q packagename_without_number returns the name
_with_ the number. rpm don't care about the number.
I got a RedHat 5.1 running (same as Schaible) and tested the command
before
posting to make sure that I don't post shit. And here 'rpm -q
XFree86-devel' returns a 'XFree86-devel-3.3.2.3-18' a 'rpm -q foo-bar'
returns 'package foo-bar is not installed' and a 'rpm -q
XFree86-devel-3.3.2.3-17' returns the same because I got patchlevel
18 installed.

This is just to avoid confusion for all the new rpm users.
