! I just upgrade to v 1.6.6-3 for whatever version it was that came with
! RH5.1.... anyways....

! I like some of the changes I see...very nice...here's the problem...it
! screwed everything I had set.... wharf's wacky....my cpuload monitor
! (asload ) is gone, the clock (asclock) gone and the pager is gone....

The AfterStep apps are no longer shipped with the main program
rpm. Rpms of these programs can be found in the typical rpm locations or
in the old AfterStep-APPS rpm.

! up popped these two new pager's that were not swallowed in wharf ( one
! titled work and the other pager which was 4 "works" for work, www, mail, and
! games....... great dont want it that way... I want it swallowed in wharf
! the way it was..

If you maid changes to /usr/X11R6/share/afterstep, you old config
files should have been backed up in /usr/X11R6/share/afterstep_old, or
something similar.

! Now since I have a copy of wharf in my own ~./GNUstep... dir it should
! override the new wharf which it does but like I said things are missing...

	What things, applications or configurations?

! Also when I minimixe icons now.... there is no tile anymore just the
! icon...what happened....can I still use tiles....

The rpm is compiled with the new no-iconbackground concept, if you
want this capability, you need to compile from the source.

! I compared the new wharf file and my old wharf file no where can I see
! where the "look" for the applets but my wharf isn't finding them and the
! new one find some albeit different ones than I had.... yet the line where
! they are both calling the same thing ( namely asclock ) are identical and
! yet my wharf doesn't work?

Again, the apps aren't shipped. Try a 'which asclock', does it
show as being still installed on your system?

! plus now I cant seem to find any of the applets on my system...even though
! they must be somewhere since the default wharf finds them but mine
! doesn't.
!
! I'm quite confused, cant seem to figure out where its loooking or finding
! such things.... also the pager how do I get it back to normal?

The path to Modules (amoung other paths are in th ebase.#bpp,
where # is your olordepth. If you are speaking of the actual apps
(asclock, asmail, etc) see above.

! I've read the faq...doesn't help.../usr/local/bin is the first thing in my
! path statement so it shouldn't be the problem either?
!
! Anyone got any ideas?
!
! also anyone know how a page that describes in excrutiaing detail the
! config files for wharf and afterstep....

The man pages are up to date and extremely acurate and helpful,
man afterstep, man Wharf, man Pager, etc.
