as apps popularity evaluation

Hi!

I was looking at the logs of tigr.net and suddenly
I realized that I can give an estimation of what
applet is the most popular by seeing how often it
is downloaded. The results are on:

http://www.tigr.net/afterstep/as-apps/popularity.html

However, I think this is most useful for developers.
Ethan found a very good description for these results:
"this is what people think they want". This doesn't
evaluate how often an app is used or if you are
satisfied with it. It shows how high are the expectations
for an app.

What I can say from watching the results? I can say that
people place high hopes on ascp. The aterm is a very
popular terminal. And, surprisingly (at least to me),
many people are asking for ASFiles. Maybe it's time
we get to look at it and see if it is already perfect?

Cheers,
Albert aka Tigr
