Is it possible for xv (or any other X program) to ask afterstep (or any
other wm) for the total size of all the goodies hanging off the windows?
That would be the titlebar, the frame, and everything else added together.
Because if it can't, it would seem to be a bit of a difficulty with
X-Windows and full-screen apps in general...

You could use the Scroll module, if you can deal with the extra space the
scrollbars take up, and use a smaller window...

Or you could bind a handy key combination to Maximize x y, with x and y
sizes that give you your desired space around the window.

Finally, if there's some sort of way to have Afterstep run a script every
time a window opens (this would be the cool way), you could have a script
check for any windows that are the same height as your screen and resize
them.
