[big snip]

First off, remove all those lines that are not supposed to be
there, the duplicate lines in the base file, etc. If you need help in
removing them, refer to the contents of the DEFAULT files for this. If
you have erroneaous lines, you could very well be twarting the module
_not_ to work. Once you have done this, verify that you have the Audio
module lines in _both_ the "InitFunction" _and_ "RestartFunction" sections
(you did not have them in the sample file you included before). Now, exit
AfterStep and restart X; verify that the Audio module is indeed running by
greping the output of ps ( ps axfw | grep Audio ). If Audio is running,
verify that you indeed have the sounds that are related to action as
specified in the audio conf file, these sound files should be in the path
of the *AudioPath. If you have these sounds and the Audio module is
running and you still don't have sound, switch back to the console to see
if there are any errors.

I see that you do get an error about the beep.au sound, I pressume
it is indeed in that directory?
