AfterStep+GNOME

I am a big fan of both gnome and AfterStep. Unfortunately, I have
noticed, you cannot just put AfterStep in to Gnome Control
Center-->Desktop-->Window Managers. Is there anyway to get gnome working
in AfterStep, and if so, how? I have seen screen shots of people running
the gnome panel under afterstep, therefore I think it would be possible
to run the whole thing. Oh, and, as a side note: I cannot get on to
EFnet, and therefore #afterstep. I have my ident server running. When I
connect to irc.efnet.net, it says "You are not authorized to use this
server". When I connect to irc.concentric.net, it says "Too much abuse,
go away!". I doubt that I have been banned from Efnet, considering the
fact I have never been able to connect in the first place. I cannot
connect at school either (from any computer). Same reasons. And no,
neither of us are using IP Masq. Help with either of the two issues would
be much appreciated. (the first one would be more appreciated, cuz I am
sick to death of E)
