in the 'Pager' man page, check out '*PagerDecoration'.
An excerpt from my 'pager' file is below.
*PagerDecoration DeskBorderWidth 1, DeskBorderColor #009900, GridColor
#009900, NoDeskLabel, SelectionColor #00FF00
