AS newbie baffled.

Hi. I've run Nextstep for 3 years and finally decided to stop because the
developers are abandoning it. I now run Linux and chose AS as my window
manager because I heard that it emmulates the Nextstep front end.

More specifically, I'm running Afterstep 1.8.0 on RedHat Linux 6.2. And
I'm pretty sure on using Xfree86.

Eventually, I'd like to learn more about how to personalize AS, but for
now I'd like to configure it so that it closely mimics Next. I've done a
lot of AS reading in the last couple days, but most folks are discussing
themes and ways to make the desktop look cool. My problems are way more
basic.

1. Is there a configuration file somewhere that is set to mimic Next.

2. In Next there is something called the File Viewer that is essentially a
graphical version of the file system. Is there anything like that for AS.
Right now, the only way I can access the file system is via a terminal
window.

Thanks for your time.

patrick
