Development AfterStep Advisory: non-configurable dropped
Mon, 24 Jul 2000 09:12:06 -0500

For those of you adventurous souls out there, who's using development
AfterStep from CVS :

AfterStep 1.9.31 and later will not be using
~/GNUstep/Library/AfterStep/non-configurable dir
for storing of current look&feel files, and root backgrounds selected from
the menu.

file is used instead. Please be advised that this file should not be edited
by hand, except
in extreme emergencies. AfterStep automagically updates this file, with
your selection made from
the menu of look, feel and background images.

One of the implications of this change, is the fact that you'll loose your
settings when you start
1.9.31 for the first time. Please re-select them from the menu :)

Related change has been made to the asetroot configuration. If you want
asetroot to show
your image selected from the menu, simply ommit the file name in
MyBackground definition.
Like so:

MyBackground "menu-selectable-scaled"
     Use 0

*asetrootDeskBack 0 "menu-selectable-scaled"
*asetrootDeskBack 1 "menu-selectable-scaled"
*asetrootDeskBack 2 "menu-selectable-scaled"

Sample configuration files has been updated accordingly. As always man
pages lag a little bit :)
but that will be fixed as well.

Have a good AfterStepping :)
