Hello steppers, I'm running a home compiled AfterStep v. 1.8.8 on Debian GNU/Linux and I've got problems using asetroot with xv as an external application for asetroot. I've tried to use (without success) the following declaration in my ~/GNUstep/Library/AfterStep/asetroot : MyBackground "mystiqueTile" Use xv "-root -rmode 2 /mnt/multimedia/img/mystique_tile.jpg -quit" ~MyBackground But this command, which produces mirrored tiles in the root window, (try it out it makes really nice backgrounds :) $ xv -root -rmode 2 /mnt/multimedia/img/mystique_tile.jpg -quit works perfectly well when called outside of AS. How should I proceed ? Before posting I've of course read the doc my best, but the documentation about using an external application with asetroot is not too clear. Especially in the asetroot manpage the phrase : "Change it to something else, if you want, in options to..." seems to have have been cut out. In addition the manpage tells to use type 2, while AfterStep-1.8.8/doc/code/asetroot.format specifies : Use [cmd|MyStyle|file] "args" Cheers, -- Marc-Aurčle DARCHE <http://ma.darche.free.fr> AFUL <http://www.aful.org> Association Francophone des Utilisateurs de Linux/Logiciels Libres French speaking Linux and Free Software Users' Association _______________________________________________ The AfterStep Window Manager for X User's Mailing List http://mail.afterstep.org/mailman/listinfo/as-users
