Wharf problem persists

Hey guys.

In a previous message I told you about a couple problems I was having with my new version of AS. After some more investigating, I'm fairly certain that the problem is with the wharf.

When I restart an AS session, the other programs that are running at the time of the restart all come back very quickly but the wharf lags significantly.

ANother example: I have one of the dock items set up so that if you click it, three other squares slide out to the side. In the 1.8.3 version of afterstep, this side slide out was quick and smooth. Now it is slow and jerky.

I'm not trying to do anything fancy there. I don't think it's a CPU problem.

My new machine is a Dell Pentium 4 and my old machine was a Pentium 3.

Any suggestions for how to fix the wharf?

Thanks again.

patrick
