first, since im new on the list, i want to say hi to everyone here,
and thank you for such a wonderfull wm as AfterStep

I think it wouldnt hurt to change the configuration directory to
something more short and this way it also fits with the general
assumption that configuration files for most programs are in

I also have a cuestion regarding the backgrouds:

  see in 1.8.10 i've been using a script to load an image at random
  and put it on the root window (on the background) every ten minutes
  or so with 'xli -onroot'. this worked with the transparent.rev look
  and transparent aterm's with no problem.
   but when I installed the as2 beta, this stopped working, i've only
  tried with the glass look. any idea whats happening here?
