I had my own couple of pages for a while before this server has started. Those were hosted by Digitale Metropool Antwerpen. It is a free service and anyone could get a page there. The trouble started in the end of the summer 1998 when I was (self-)appointed to be the official maintainer of the AfterStep applications package. I wanted to provide people with downloads and useful information pages but the space I had was restricted to a few hundred kilobytes. I was desperate and started to look for a Web hosting service.

At the same time I looked at the available domain names and suddenly I came across Tigr.net which was free. Whether it was a matter of luck or the gods were in a particularly bright mood that day but I had the domain with my nickname. I was so excited I registered it right away which was probably a wise thing to do. After that I signed up for a hosting service and started to work on the AfterStep-related part of the server. The server went operational at the end of 1998 and that's about all the story. I've been extending it ever since.

What is to become of my home page in the future? I do not really have any particular plans, this is just a place for me to put up all pieces and bits of information that you might not find somewhere else. I intend on sharing all things I write through these pages. You will also find here more information about me than anybody at all cares to know. I also put some pictures and descriptions of events for my friends. It is also a playground and a sandbox for all those experimental web scripts and layouts. And last, but not least, this is the way to let you know how to find me when you need me.
